Connect Keycard Shell to a wallet app
17 Sept 2025

Keycard and Keycard Shell must work together with a wallet app that supports QR signing. After setting up your Keycard, you need to connect your Keycard Shell to a supported wallet app.

note
Currently, Keycard Shell doesn't appear on the official list of supported hardware wallets, but you can still connect it to a supported wallet app by selecting the QR-based (for example, MetaMask) or Keystone (for example, Rabby and Nunchuk) option.

  • The wallet app is an interface to manage your crypto assets. The private keys remain on your Keycard, and the wallet app has no access to them.
  • You can connect your Keycard Shell to one or multiple wallet apps.
  • You can use the wallet app on your phone, computer or browser, depending on what the app supports.

Before connecting to a wallet app, you must select the type of wallet app you want to connect to in Keycard Shell. Here are the options:

  • Ethereum: For wallet apps that support Ethereum and EVM-compatible networks, such as MetaMask.
  • Bitcoin: For wallet apps that support Bitcoin, such as Bluewallet.
  • Bitcoin multisig: Select this option to use Bitcoin multisig with the wallet app.
  • Bitcoin testnet: Select this option to use Bitcoin testnet with the wallet app.
  • Multiple blockchains: For wallet apps that support multiple blockchains, such as Bitget.
note
Bitcoin multisig and Bitcoin testnet options are for advanced users.

In this process, you use your wallet app to scan a QR code displayed on your Keycard Shell.
